This is the first incense I’ve made from one of my alcohol-based perfumes.
The story of this perfume begins with the search for a now rather precious material: the resin of Liquidambar orientalis.
In the heart of Turkey, I met an extremely kind person with whom we developed a friendship and a collaborative relationship. He extracts essences with his CO2 machine and the famous Turkish Rose through steam distillation with traditional copper stills.
We decided together to create perfumes tied to his homeland, with Liquidambar as the main raw material. The first is Silk Road, the second Sagalassos, very close to where he lives, and another is still under construction.
The scent of this incense is extremely spicy, fresh, and with various floral notes, thanks in part to the Frangipani, Vanilla, and Rosewood absolutes, with musky/ambery undertones from the Oakmoss, Copaiba, and Black Cumin absolutes, and, as mentioned, very spicy thanks to the Coriander and Celery seeds.
A journey and pilgrimage made of dreams, stories, and caravans on the route between Asia and the West.
