Origin of harvest: Tuscan-Emilian Apennines

As you might guess, this tree is not exactly endemic to the Mediterranean but was imported centuries ago from India, like other conifers found in the surrounding mountains where I live, including Douglas fir, Pseudotsuga menziesii, and Chaemacyparis lawnsoniana from North America.

This is the dust of pine cones, patiently collected throughout the late winter and early spring phase, the pine cone has a fair amount of resin with it, as you can see from the photos.

Its aroma is slightly balsamic, herbaceous and carries with it the hints of the earth.

Since the end of June 2026, I have also started distilling the branches, which contain a fair amount of resin, note the photo, but with an extremely low yield of essential oil.
