He who has the desire to explore knows well that he tends to go almost everywhere.
Today more than ever anyone can “adventure” even in the comfort of their own home. I am referring to the immense virtual world that flows in our computers, namely the Internet. Well, I had fun sifting through uninhabited territories almost everywhere in the entire globe with a famous program, through photos taken by satellites.
Mountain conformations, the sinuous courses of rivers, above all it fascinates me and at the same time disheartens me to see the immense desert areas dotted almost everywhere in the entire globe, from the monstrous Shahara to the Gobi desert, the Canyons of Utah to the center of Australia. So from this “home” exploration and from the experiences of my travels, especially in Burkina Faso where I work, I wanted to create a sort of soundtrack to the images I had in front of me.
“Explore from Satellite” is a double album full of sounds that wants to transmit the energy of the Earth to the virtual traveler. When sifting through the landscapes, there are often flights of fancy, where you no longer know what you are looking at, geological geometries that want to recall kaleidoscopic designs, clear boundaries between vegetal walls with arid areas almost forming fractals, as I observed in India in the Madhya Paradesh region observable at about 20,000 meters above sea level, between Jaisinghnagar and Bilehra.
“Peace in Deep Abyss” a track on the second CD is dedicated to my parents who died prematurely, made on August 17th the same day my mother left this world.
The tracks: “Hidden Cavities”, “Indefinite Border” and “Ray of Moonlight on the Rock Mountain” come from an old project, that is, an album entirely dedicated to an old analog synthesizer, without adding any effects (reverbs, modulators, delays), but obviously to give more emphasis in “Explore from Satellite” I did not spare them.
An experience that already starts another sound project linked this time to the visual and structural similarities of the Macrocosmic world in relation to the Microcosmic one, but I am already telling another story….. How could I greet better than …. a pleasant dive from space into our world to all those who will listen In order to raise awareness of all the environmental problems related to our beloved planet.
