From a trip to Turkey, where I have a dear friend who distills Damask Rose and has a CO2 extraction machine, I learned about this essence he distills.

He took me to the field where he harvests; you can see me in the photos, delighted, picking up a now-dry pappus.

AROMA:

This incredible essence is truly unique, and I would even say rare, as the root of this plant is typically distilled for its earthy yet slightly sweet and spicy aroma.

The aroma of the fruits, however, lends a completely different fragrance.

Punchy, slightly sweet with acidic undertones, at times you detect notes of cheese, at other times floral; they remind me very much of acetate molecules, such as prenyl acetate and definitely butyrates.

An essence that can give truly unique nuances to your perfumes.
