The rhizome of this plant is used similarly to the common ginger with a strong anti-inflammatory and antibiotic capacity.

Previous in vitro study demonstrated that the essential oil of Plai exhibited antimicrobial activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, dermatophytes and yeasts.

Aroma:
Woody, it reminds me of humid forests, a cellar with freshly emptied barrels, perhaps childhood memories 😆. Hints of liquorice, anise, sultanas. maybe it’s not very romantic but I also smell a new shoe, leather and rubber.
