Ramivola (Commiphora sp.) from Madagascar, for Tromba cerimony

Following is the selection of the weight of 50gr, that is half and 100 gr for 80-90gr (approximately) which corresponds to the whole piece, complete with covering leaves.

This resin is a rarity in Madagascar and is used for ceremonial purposes, especially for the Tromba (pronounced tzrumba)
an ancient custom linked to the world of animism, not with extreme certainty the fumigation of this resin together with the ceremony helps the soul of the deceased to find the right path without obstacles of various negative spiritistic entities, therefore, simplistically speaking is a protector .
My biggest doubt is the botanical determination of the species, I could dare to say Commiphora guillaumini or C. morondavensis, C. falcata …. since they tell me that it comes from the South of Madagascar therefore narrowing the field there can be a maximum of 5 or 6 varieties.

The resin is collected with rudimentary tools such as knives and spoons, given its complexity it is collected with parts of bark and wrapped in a large leaf forming wheels similar to small plates.
