Almaciga or Dayungon (Agathis philippinensis)
€2.00 – €120.00Price range: €2.00 through €120.00
Family: Araucariaceae
Origin; Philippine
Large tree of the order of the Pinales.
Araucariacee are considered by botanists to be the most primitive conifers. In fact, they possess a set of morphological and biological characteristics that bring them closer to the ancestors common to the whole group. The cones of this family, especially the female ones, recall certain fossil genera such as Lebachia and Voltzia which lived no less than 150 million years ago (in the Mesozoic). Today the Araucariacee include only two genera coming from areas of the southern Pacific: Agathis, with at least 13 species, and Araucaria, with about 18 species.
The aroma of this resin is characterized by green, herbaceous, slightly balsamic and spicy notes. It spreads a fresh and sparkling sensation in the room, between a classic conifer and Copal gold (Bursera mycrophylla).
Easy to use resin, on the charcoal it liquefies completely without leaving traces.
